I'm going to be studying adult nursing, but the thing is I've already got a degree in another subject.

Has anybody here had a previous degree, meaning they couldn't get a Maintenance Loan from the SLC, on their forthcoming Adult Nursing degree?

    Thanks.

I've run out of phone money, so I can't phone the SLC helpline at the moment.

You can apply for a non-means tested reduced loan. So you'll get half of a non-means tested loan

I'm also a postgrad and am only entitled to the £2340 (or something like that) maintainence loan. I will get the NHS bursary to pay the fees though, and everyone gets the £1000 bursary.

If you are planning to study nursing on an undergrad course than you are entitled to the £2324 from the SLC for each year of the course. If you study nursing at postgrad level than you are not entitled to any support from the SLC
