Does anyone know the diference between ODEs, PDEs & Difference equations, i have been going on many maths undergraduate websites and have been seeing these titles pop up everywhere.

ODE refers to an ordinary differential equation, much of the type you're used to, e.g. \frac{dy}{dx}+y\ln x = \sin x

PDE refers to a partial differential equation which involve partial derivatives of a function of several variables, e.g. \frac{\partial ^2 u}{\partial ^2 x}+\frac{\partial ^2 u}{\partial ^2 y}=0

A difference equation is what you might know as a reccurence relation, e.g. x_{n+1}=rx_{n}(1-x_{n})

ODE has 1 variable, PDEs are 2 or more, Difference equations work discrete 'steps' and can involve more than 1 variable but it's rare.
