oh, for that venn diagram, i didn't show much working at all to show how i got to the values. If all the values in the venn diagram were correct, would that get all the marks?

I thought paper was pretty hard, i just panicked and ran out of time. Got 11 for outside the venn diagram.... so got that wrong i guess. Subtracted 10 from the combined attributes and then subtracted those values from the people with one attribute.

ok im really confused.... i thought that the grade boundaries never changed and were always the same - like 80%+ for an A, 70%-80% for a B...
I got 66/100 last january so whats that?

i mocked up on the probability question however i got 2/3 for the last one hope it is right. i cant beleive it but i got the normal distribution stuff right and then forgot the last question how dumb was that. i got some thing like y=2502+0.96825x for the regression hope it aint wrong cos if it is then im screwed verymuch. hope to get at least 65 because c1,c2 should give me about 180 in total.

in the exam i was worried whether it should be the number 10 or 10/100 in the venn diagram. in the examples in the book it seems ok to just put in numbers e.g. p83.
sure you wouldn't lose marks either way, but not sure
So is 10/100 correct? anyone? i'm stressing!

10/100 is incorrect, you CAN ONLY WRITE 10 in the middle, NOT 10/100

i'm getting mixed messages.. not only was the middle out of 100, everything was, so, wouldn't that make it right? the sample size was 100 people after all! if anything, wouldn't putting 10/100 make it more accurate?

I'm pretty sure it is correct. Its probability, supposed to be between 0 and 1.

Anyone doing solutions to this paper? I'll put up a few soon if people want.

How did people do the last question on the Venn question? i got a really weird answer and confused myself...

Dont think i done well in that paper at all, i was struggling with probability and normal distribution before hand so having ven diagrams and what i thought was a tough normal distribution question didn't do much help

X-Ro-X just concentrate on your other exams... there's nothing you can do now, so chill out listen to some music, I'm sure someone will upload the paper tomorrow though. It's too late now, i think with S1 a lot of people make silly mistakes hence you can expect ~75% in raw terms to give you 80UMS+. What they do is grade inflation, they reajust depending on other people's performance. The inflation doesn't change drastically year by year so I would say if you have 55/75 + you will get an A!

You're pretty cute you know, are you going to UNI next year?

I actually wrote all the values e.g. 10 in the venn diagram and then at the side wrote:
If these were probablities, they would be over 100 lol!
As for the actual questions, I think they needed to be over 100 because it asked for the probabilities.

Just to clarify, the normal distribution heights that were already given were supposed to go either side of the mean, yes?

Last question was Prob of
(D given | that (A and B) occurs)= P( D and A and B) / P(A and B)
=(10/100) / (15/100)=2/3

What did people get for the Metaulleugist (sp? i cant spell it even if my dad is one...) there were so many rounding errors that you could get in that! To be safe i did it twice, once with unrounded numbers and again with rounded numbers, but it's so vauge whether you sohuld carry through with rounded numbers! Esp when they give you different results!
