Considering most of the TSR people would have been born sometime in the late 80's or early to mid 90's. Most people impressions of the US are going to have been formed from 2000 onwards. The US hasn't exactly been too popular over the last decade, with its foreign policy and foreign influence.. Iraq and Afghanistan, Gitmo, the drone program, US contribution to the Financial Crisis.

Some of us we're born in the late 70's so our opinions were formed with Ivan sitting on the border between East and West.

It's important to take a more holistic approach.

I did say 'most' twice. Perceptions are going to change with events, I was just pointing out most of this student generation are going to have had their views shaped by current and recent ones rather than previous ones. Not many people are going to look to the US as the only force stopping Soviet armour rolling into western Europe, considering the USSR didn't exist by the time they could walk. I'm sure their time as protectors of the free world will come about again as China grows and Russia recovers.

No free healthcare, KKK, violent police, mass income inequality, ignorant morons for a population and a corporate oligarchy for a government. Sounds like the kind of place you want to live in right? No thanks, I rather be ruled by the Saudi government than those people.

Anti-Americanism is not as acceptable as it seems.

Just for fun, I decided to make a list of everything people hated about Americans. Everything that people have posted here and in so many other websites is on that list. Then one day I got sick and tired of it and realized........... if the world has got a huge problem with Americans, then why doesn't the world......... you know......... I can't say it. But every time I did, I would get banned and not just on this site. See, Anti-Americanism is not as acceptable.

The problem America faces is that its people believe in the American dream. It is all about America. It is all about the individual and the idea that if you work hard enough, you can become rich. And when you become rich, it is for you to enjoy privately. Except that we all share one planet that is become increasingly small. So in a world where countries and people are slowly coming around to the idea that only by working together can we continue to exist, America is still inward facing. My questions would be - what is America doing in the world right now that is making the world a better place for everyone and not just America?

Was it a tired cliche that made Trump leave the Paris agreement? Is it a tired cliche that sees him have an 87% approval rating amongst Republican voters?

Many Americans are as in love with the American dream now just as they always have.

Anti-American sentiment: Why is it acceptable?

America is the most scrutinzed country in the world today. Ever increasingly, i've noticed this jump-on the America hating bandwagon trend. It's rarely met with criticism but approval. Big bad America. The worlds scapegoat.

Why is it so easy to **** off that entire nation particularly? Hmm? Doing the same for a region in Africa or a certain religion would absolutely not be so plain sailing. It would be alot harder. Easy target America?

PC doesn't seem to flex the rule book at U.S haters, criticis of athiesm, critics of Christians. It doesn't condition that way seeminly..The 'racist' callers won't use that word at US criticism. Maybe they don't suitably qualify under the deffinition of 'offensiveness'. They won't get their 'AmeroPhobia'.

Not one good thing is said about that country. whilst those criticis watch their US movies & sitcoms, use American innovations, and mastebate over American porn sites.

Whatever America does, it's a minority. Remember? Just like the Boston Bombers were called a minority.
Because the American government is so hypocritical, they play global cop to the world, invade countries for their own benefits and yet want to stick it down everyone else throat that they are the bad ones.

Americans themselves are privileged but yet complain about absolute everything, they make everything an issue about race or sex or politics, yet can care less about the real suffering in the world.

People are simply sick of the way the American government treats and views the rest of the world, and the complete bias of the American government. And American people believe that they are the center of the world, and just love openly critics over countries and cultures but God forbid we make any critiques about America.

It is a left wing thing. Unfortunately, they are quite a loud group.

I wish the UK was more like the US.
People hating on the UK is actually commonly 'left' thing to do. However we should really stop tossing 'right' and 'left wing' around, they are starting to lose their meaning.

Because it's not really anti-American, it's anti-Republican, and the Republicans haven't been the party of forward motion in America since the 19th century. When Europeans are anti-American they are boostering for powerful and high status Americans, not attacking them.

Try criticising America for having bombed out cities full of absurd levels criminality almost solely due to their black minority, and that lack of this demographic component is why Europe was historically nicer even in countries that were much poorer on paper. See how long you are allowed to be anti-American.

Now blame the same trends on lack of welfare that Switzerland and Singapore also lack without any such problems and you will be welcome at all the fanciest parties in Manhattan.

When people refer to America they are talking about the government not the people, so your argument is invalid
Not true and even if it is that still doesn't add up. Apparently to be critical of the right wing Israeli government is to be anti semitic, what's the difference?
