In Real Life

(the other ones I still use are AFAIK As Far As I Know, IMO In My Opinion (never use IMHO because IMO if you think your opinion warrants posting online you're hardly being humble about it), IIRC If I Remember/Recall Correctly and BTW By The Way) I've abandoned ROFL, LMAO, ROFLMAO  , AFK (away from keyboard), BRB (be right back) and the evil LOL
aRGH = I use 'lol' - 'btw' - 'brb' = but the rest are crazy = rofl? - AYSOS = are you stupid or something?

I try not to use the abbreviations, they just look cheap! Occassionally a couple of the more common ones slip through. (LOL, BTW etc)

Its going to get to the stage when children don't know the correct spelling of some words and we'll be stuck with tho and thru for the rest of eternity and the words are eventually re-entered into the Oxford English Dictionary in that form!

Well, thats how i (intentionally) pronounce it, so people who haven't heard of it (i.e. everyone else) think its something wierder than it is.

Well, lol isn't really too bad.
But i've used btw quite a few times, as well as fyi!
I don't often leave my machine, so i've never used brb.

AYSOS? Well, university challenge usually makes up its questions, so i wouldn't be surprised if they made that up.

rofl - rolling on the floor laughing
lmao - laughing my arse off
roflmao - I'll let you figure that one out.

I left Yahoo Chat when it got to a stage where you would enter a chat room to find 30 people PM-ing (very rude IMO) and one muppet with voice-chat locked on ranting on about something rediculous

Oh and when SHOUTING became the norm

Well i've done worse than just shouting and stuff.
Once, i was the only person in this room, and i started chatting to myself on there, to see how long it would take before i was bored of it.

A couple of hours later... (well, you get the point)

I hated having random people PM me when I tried chat rooms. It was like being in a bar chatting to a group of people and having a slimey old man try and drag you off for a little one-2-one in the toilets!
