The Student Room Group

uni presentation

'I'm thinking of doing a course which has one of its assessment's as 'seminar's and group presentation' - are group presentations normally done in front of your seminar class? Also at uni, are presentations supposed to be really well delivered?
Presentations arent like 'work' presentations - ie. powerpoint etc - they are a student reporting on their reading and/or their response to a question about that reading. They are usually quite informal, done sitting a a table with other students, not standing in front of a class etc. Group presentations may involve something a bit more formal but will still not be that intimidating and your tutor will give you instructions about format etc.

Lots of pre-students worry about doing presentations - but the whole point is that you arent expected to deliver anything polished in Year 1. Doing them and watching others is how you get the confidence to do them better. So, dont worry about it - its a lot easier than it sounds and you'll get lots of help from fellow students and your tutors along the way.
