Apparently tobacco products are taxed so highly to try and prevent people from buying them... they even have smoking kills labels and pictures of the effects of smoking on the human body, now since the government is trying to stop smokers why haven't they made it illegal like Marijuana? Or why not make Marijuana legal and have Smoking Kills/ Makes you high on Marijuana packets? They could tax the hell out of it too.

I agree with the fact that Class A drugs are illegal and should remain Illegal

No one has died from smoking Marijuana, yet the government is concerned about the long term effects of the drug, but what about the short term proven effects of tobacco? A ban on Marijuana (a drug with no directly related deaths, no serious short term effect, no proven long term affects, no proven signs of addiction (people may not want to stop but they are not dependent on it) is the same as a TAX (on a drug that has caused deaths and cancers, proven short and long term effects, proven addiction etc.

Alcohol too, banning Alcohol caused more problems since people could find other ways to import it. crime rates rose too. With all the money spent on the war on drugs, why not just Legalise Marijuana (it even has medicinal uses) and stop all the money, resources and personnel to try and keep it illegal?

I think all answers will come down to this but it would be nice to hear your opinions.

Money, the tobacco and alcohol industries are huge, creating billions in profits. Marijuana can be grown at home and there would be no profits for the governments and the companies. Tobacco and Alcohol were first discovered/ sold when little was known about them, but we know how harmful they are and they are still legal.
