Yay, although I just have coffee instead - less fizziness

Reply 2

try lucozade

Reply 3

I drink it before every exam, and it keeps me awake. But once the exam is over, I'm dead tired lol.

Most useful for the consecutive exams....

Redbull, pro+, coffee, lucozade - all help me. Redbull in particular not only helps with exams, but also helps me to concentrate better for longer when revising.

You'd be better to eat healthily, drink lots of water, and get lots of sleep.

But as exams are stressful, it doesn't always work out like that! So if it helps you then do it. Even if it doesn't actually help, it might make you feel better and therefore will benefit you.

I've found having a banana or two before a tough exam session or revision, seems to make a big difference. I dont know if its because it relieves blood pressure and stress or what, but it certainly helps a LOT and it def keeps you more alert.

When I have upwards of 3 hours of exams I bring in a mini baguette, but I wouldnt bother with stuff like red bull before an exam, I mean its hardly that difficult to concentrate on something for one and a half hours. Anyway, surely being all mentally stimulated just makes it easier to be distracted, I know I find it easier to concentrate in exams if I have that comfortable feeling of knackerdness, it makes the whole thing more relaxing and means you cant be arsed with distractions. Plus if I drank coffee or fizzy drinks beforehand I'd just need a piss halfway through, or at least be distracted by a full bladder.

Each to their own.

With regard to concentration, Red Bulls effects are somewhat ambivalent, it definitely can aid recall/concentration, but could equally (maybe if taken in the wrong context?) lead to distraction. However it's effects on metabolism may allow you to get more info down in a given time, thus paving the way for more detailed answers? Or alternatively make you feel sick.

Hmm, think i might follow you're suggestion there, especially with the 3 hours each of exams coming up lol!

I seem to have a habit at minute though of taking water in, and drinking it all within the first 10 mins. Then I desperately need to pee for the rest of the exam! lol

Should really try and avoid that but hey, i get nervous!

I just have a Cadbury chunky dairy milk bar before the exam. No need for anything else.

For me a Redbull before an exam would be a "nay," since no matter how calm and prepared I am for an exam consciously, my subconscious makes me actually become physically sick, so I suppose that as I cannot stomach any food or drink before an exam because I am usually sick; a Redbull would be inside me the one second, but as quick as a flash out of me and straight into the sink! lol

I am getting better though, since out of a total of seven days of AS exams, I was only sick three times on three different days. A lot better than what occured with my GCSE's *shivers*

Red Bull Before Every Exam!

Reply 16

Nay. Have a banana as they are a slow release of energy, while red bull is a straight sugar and energy rush. Well i find Bananas better.

Reply 17

no!! this will give u an energy rush 4 lyk 30 mins then ull want more, the fizziness will make ur tummy bloat and feel tired down after a while. Go for lucazade, and water and above all banana's

Reply 18

I just prefer cold water because its refreshing and doesn't make you bloated or anything like that

Oh and never take an exam after a full meal. Well at least in my case. I feel VERY drowsy and just cant keep my eyes open. Doesnt help with this warm weather.
