Hopefully the root g in the denominator on the right is obvious.

As to the t becoming d, without some context, I'd suspect a typo.

what about this:

0=gd×t12g×t20=\sqrt gd \times t - \frac{1}{2}g \times t^2

to 0=gt(2dg×t)0= \sqrt g t(2\sqrt d - \sqrt g \times t)

OK, corrected that, you just need {} round whatever comes under the sign.

So, what bit's causing the problem?

Since you're dealing with multiplication and division, it doesn't matter which order you do it in.

You can multiply by 2 and then factorise (which is essentially division),

Or you can factorise and then multiply by 2.
