Durham accommodation

Hello everyone!

I'm an international postgraduate student and I will spend the upcoming Michaelmas term in Durham (Business School). As I've seen the university offers accommodation for incoming students, but only for the period from october to december. Unfortunately, the exams I'll have to write will take place in january/february.

Does anyone of you have any experience with that or any idea where to find accommodation for the last couple of weeks?

Thanks in advance for your response!

Hiya,

First question - how come you're only able to get Oct-Dec accommodation with the University? The only package I'm aware of is the standard 50-week let that covers the entire academic year, as listed here: http://www.dur.ac.uk/postgraduate/accommodation/costs/ (edit: Oh, are you an Erasmus student? I hadn't heard about this before https://www.dur.ac.uk/international/studyabroad/erasmus/incoming/accommodation/ )

Okay, then since you're only looking for a couple of weeks worth of housing, I'd recommend getting in contact with the Durham University Accommodation Office and asking for advice - [email protected] - they'd be by far the best place to go for information.

Edit: Or possible the Student Union's advice centre? http://www.dsu.org.uk/content/730603/advice__information/advice_centre/

Hey,

thanks for your quick and detailed response!

Yes, I'm Erasmus student and we are only offered accommodation until december.
The Accommodation Office sounds good, then I'll ask there for advice. Actually, I didn't know that there is an office for that, so thank you for sending me the contact
