I worked for six hours solid yesterday on my art and graphics course work. I worked downstairs and I will admit I made a mess with pens and papers around me. Mum came in after a 12 hour shift and just shouted at me straight away. She didn't say 'How's your day' or ask what I was doing, she just moaned straight away saying I was useless and dont help at all. I got angry and knocked a box full of pencils over and stormed upstairs. She scrunched up all my work and threw it into a bag. My work is due in tomorrow and there's no way I can get it all done again. I'm so angry and upset, she never asks about my work or helps in any way, she just moans about the mess, even though I always tidy up after. I just needed to vent on here

Aww, that is terrible and I understand because I'm a school leaver and I had taken photography which equally consumed all my time. I'm not sure what to suggest really, sorry. Perhaps have a private word with your course tutor, or you will just have to submit any work you happen to still have. That sounds terrible and if my parents did that I would be furious. I hope you are okay xxx

There lies your answer. She has worked double the time you have and has walked in on a mess. My Mum used to do the same to me and I never understood why until I moved out.

Just talk to her, instead of knocking over the pencils and storming off you should have told her you know it looks a mess but you promise you'll tidy it later, how about ask how her day is? Talk to each other! Tell her not to worry about it, you have it sorted. She shouldn't have scrunched up your work but then you shouldn't have left it there when you knew she wanted it tidy. Got to work both ways hasn't it!
