Hey everyone, I entered myself for a resit exam back in March for Edexcel Chemistry unit 1 to push up my marks. I managed to get 92/120 the first time around which was pretty good. I decided to enter myself for the resit because in one of my practicals, I had only managed to get 8/14 so I would only get 34/40 for my coursework which is a lot of UMS marks gone. At the time, I thought I wouldn't have anymore opportunities to resit the practicals so I thought I should have just resat unit 1 chemistry to make up the UMS marks lost.

However I was given another chance to do another practical exam and I managed to score 14/14 for that. That means I will be getting the full 60/60 UMS marks. This means that I will only have to get 82/120 in Unit 5 in order to get an A.

Unit 1 revision is really dragging my other subjects down, and I don't think at this point I'll be able to do as well Should I just give up on it?

If you think it will be better for you and your other marks to concentrate on your main, non re-sit, exams, then go for it.

I'm in the same situation as you but in Business instead of Chemistry.

UMS points are 460 at the moment as it's split into 3 units this year (2 coursework and 1 exam) took the exam in January and scored 60/100) and therefore I have no motivation what so ever to revise this subject as I'm on 460 which is a good B at present and I'd have to get another 20 points which is quite a few to reach an A grade which I do not think I am capable of since I have hardly done any revision for the exam that is imminent.

My advice would be not to give up, but not to revise as much for your re-sit and make the A2 exams your main aim.

    Good luck!
