    I can't relate to this (as I have many female friends) but I'll try offering you some advice which I hope will help.

    If you feel like girls don't understand you then you need to go somewhere where you will encounter girls that you have similarities with. You say your at uni studying history so join the History society? Or a sports / painting / knitting / pylon appreciation society? Basically join any society that you have an interest in and you'll already have something in common with the girls that are in that society.

    Just take it from there. Hope that helps.

    As above, really. Societies can be a great way of meeting like minded people.

    But also it sounds like you might be prematurely ruling others out. Just because some people like to drink and may appear 'childish' doesn't make them bad, perhaps try getting to know them slightly better before ruling them out.
