Mine's been moved to Friday.
Our school hasn't enough room to allow everyone to do it tomorrow.

I thought joining the student room would help me, but this is just demoralizing. I'm goina go crawl into the fetal position and cry now

in my school people are put into quarantine and do the practical later the same day.
how fun would it be sitting for 1.5 hours under constant supervision until you can finally do your pratical
really feel sorry for those guys

I found the exam was brilliant until question 5 (ii) and onwards. Eventually got part 6 but I doubt the examiner will be able to read my last minute scribble. I feel that question 7 was so difficult due to CCEA's awful wording. I interpreted "Tom exerts a force P newtons, at right angles to the pole, at C and a force Q newtons at D", meaning Q and P were both right angles until part 3. Anyone else have the same problem?

The wording confused me soooo much too! It was horrible! I don't think I'll have even got one mark in the last question! :s-smilie:

Sorry, I might be misunderstanding what you are saying, but how can you do an exam 3 days after it is supposed to take place?

Because my school says so.
They probably have no clue what they're doing and I wouldn't be surprised if they got us all disqualified.

On Friday there is "Physics AS 3 Alternative Practical (1hr 30m)".

Ahhh right, sorry, that makes sense now. Thanks for explaining

Q2 (i) u = 14.7 m/s
Q2 (ii) s = 11.0 m (3sf)

Q3 (i) 7120 N
Q3 (ii) Maximum number of people = 7
Q3 (iv) Cable is inelastic. Treat lift and people as particles

Q4 (i) t = 3/2, 6 seconds
Q4 (ii) s = (2/3)t^3 - (15/2)t^2 + 18t metres
Q4 (iii) 379/12 metres

Q5 (i) v = -5 m/s
Q5 (ii) m = 4 or 12 kg

Q6 (ii) a = (-8y - 6) (y = coefficient of friction)
Q6 (iii) To get answer, use v = u + at, rearrange to get u = -(a)t = -(-8y - 6)T = (8y + 6)T

Q7 (ii) P = 48.3 N (3sf)
Q7 (iii) Q = 59.2 degrees to the pole (answer could also be 120.8 if you took the angle to the other side)

Let me know what you think! (I might have forgotten about some questions, like Q1 :L)

Absolutely spot on.

(Though I got 59.1 degrees to the pole!)
Anyone doing C3 Friday?

Loving that exam!
You see the "state two modelling assumptions" for Q3.

I put

- No air resistance
- Treat lift as a particle

They were my exact words, how many marks would I get?

Both legitimate. 2 marks.
Just failed physics...

The data analysis was tricky

i completely misread the first question and couldn't get the relationship, data analysis was okay in my view
