I'm starting work tomorrow (well training) for the first time ever. They ofc need my NI number, but I won't be able to prove it until the day after as my parents have sent it to me. I know the number, so do you think that will do or will they want proof? I didn't think they would because apparently in 2010 they stopped giving out replacement cards because you only need the number, but I wanted to check with anyone who's around. Tah

The number should be fine if you tell them youll bring card tmo. Also if you have a previous payslip with it on thats proof too.

You should just be able to give them the number. I've never had a card and it's never been a problem.

At my company when i have new starters I just require their number for the forms and a passport as proof of right to work/the relevant documents.
