# Quick Centre of Mass Question. watch

1. See diagram attached. l=0.8,, the body is 1-D and its mass uniformly distributed. The total mass is 2.5kg. The longer side has length 0.8m and the shorter 0.4m. Find xcm and ycm?

So for the y co-ordinate I integrated from 0 to -0.4 : 1/M(y.f(x,y)) dx dy, where f(x,y) is the density is equal to 2.5/1.2.

So this gives me 1/2.5*(2.5/1.2)*Y^2*0.5 = 0.5*0.4^2/1.2

Similarly the same method for the x coordinate with the limits from 0.8 to 0 gives 0.8^2*0.5/1.2.

This does not agree with the answer and I'm not too sure where my integration has gone wrong. Any help REALLY appreciated !!!!
