Recently I've been getting really strong acid reflux in the back of my throat. What could be the causes of this and is there anything I could buy over the counter to help?

I get this loads. I find that the supermarket-own brand fruit-flavoured antacids work the best for me (strangely, the mint ones don't so much!), but you might find others work best (the ones that work the least for me are Rennies, yet I know people who swear by them). I can be known to get through a box of these in about a fortnight... I've just kind of got used to it! Another thing that often helps - obviously only when you're in bed! - is to lie on the left hand side of your body. That sounds weird I know, but it's to do with how your stomach is set in your body.

I don't have it myself but i've heard cider vinegar can help, take like a shot of it.

Gaviscon advanced/ own brand equivalent but basically you want a product that prevents acid reflux from happening and neutralises the acid. Unfortunately rennie only does the later & and is considerably less effective.
