I wonder why Wong Fei Hung is so popular in Asia? I like traditional and mixed martial arts but there have been countless movies on him and the 10 Tigers of Canton.

Is there a particular reason Wong Fei Hung is so popular? What feats does he have? I recall him beating several people up at once and fighting other stylists but can't quite remember (all I know is he fought a boxer and [I think] karateka but I may be confusing him with IP Man)

I know some styles of Kung Fu have chin na and takedowns so am surprised competitive martial arts only focus on Judo,Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Wrestling when China also does it?

This song is also really popular too
