I am just wondering how effective swimming is for losing weight and toning up. I get really bored in the gym but love swimming and always have done. I'd like if I could turn it into my workout.

If it is effective, is it just a case of doing as many lengths as I can?

It will give you incredible aerobic endurance if you get into it! It's good exercise and easy on the joints for casual exercise as well. Make sure you're swimming properly and try to time yourself doing a distance so that you are improving and you can easily lose weight and be healthier.

I went swimming a fair bit last summer and I found it really improved my fitness and helped to tone my tummy and arms up. Its a good calorie burner to.
