Moving into bedsit: bit concerned about cost of eletricity Watch

    Its one of those dreaded prepaid meters.

    Landlord says I'll get rougjhly 7 units of eletricity per £1.

    Wonder what that translates into in real, practical terms? Is this good value, or am I being majorly ripped off?

    14p a unit with no standing charge is not bad at all.

    Your bill will depend hugely on what you use at home. If you don't have any kind of electric heating, then your bill should be pretty small if you're on your own. If you really do get 7 units for £1, you are getting good value though.
