Can you get work experience at 16? If you can, I'm planning to get some over the summer holidays - before I start my A levels. However, I don't know where to start! I'd love to get work experience at a local magazine or newspaper, but who do I write to? what do I say?

Write up a full article on something happening in the local area properly, send it into local newspapers, magazines etc... accompanied with a letter explaining your desire to work in journalism and request some work experience.

Just start a blog, and write, write, write.

Online content is worth much more these days than it used to.

I am currently looking for articles on current topics to be published for my magazine. If this would help anyone to get some publication exposure.
