    As above, it depends on the university, but you'd be foolish not to submit something as good as possible, as it can only improve your chances, and you have the whole of the summer holidays to prepare one.

    Its important. A poorly thought out or badly written PS will not get you an Offer. Take time to write various drafts and corrected versions - remeber, once entered you cant alter it.

    You have until mid-January 2014 to apply. Make sure you get it right.

    Think of it like this. Your chances of getting in CAN be improved with an exceptional statement, so shoot for that. You'll have the entire summer and maybe even the latter parts of 2013 if you're not applying to Oxbridge/Medicine. Blow them away!
