depends if money is a huge issue. Apartments will be a lot more comfortable and never underestimate the beneifts of having an en-suite bathroom. Sharing bathrooms is awful! Believe me! Go for the apartments if you can.

search on this forum. this issue has been discussed several times. infact there has been a poll on it aswell (i think apartments just pipped the halls, though i may be wrong).
For myself personally i'd refer apartments, but it depends who you are and what you are looking for out of uni.

Whats the layout of the apartments? A set of bedrooms, living area and kitchen per apartment or just rooms with shared kitchens and living areas. If you had a shared kitchen with everyone on a floor which is bound to be a lot of people, arent they going to eat your food instead of buying their own?

Hi there!
I've just spent my first year at King's living at Stamford Street, and loved every minute of it! It's in such a great location - just 20 mins from Covent Garden, and within walking distance to the Strand, Waterloo and Guy's Campuses.
As for the layout, the flats either contain 5 or 7 ensuite bedrooms, and each flat has its own kitchen. I never had a problem with people eating my food, as each room has it's own fridge and we just tended to keep shared stuff like oil, ketchup, herbs etc in the kitchen.
Although SSA is quite pricey, I would say it was worth the money. I hardly spent anything on public transport, as I was within walking distance of
most of the places I needed to go to.
Hope that's useful for any potential SSAers out there!

Do the flats have a shared living area in it?

Unfortunately, the flats don't have any 'living rooms' for just sitting together and chilling. It's literally a corridor with a shared kitchen and bedrooms off the corridor.
The kitchen does have a TV and a large table and chairs for sitting together, but what I really missed was a comfy sofa!

they're tiny. but just about big enough. they're small cos there's an en suite bathroom in each one, that's about the size of an airplane toilet. the disadvantages of stamford street are:

smaller rooms than at other places
no communal area - you basically hang with the people in your flat in the kitchen. there's no common room where you can go and meet people from other flats.
expensive

good points:
close to central london/strand campus
fridge in your room
gym next door
next to waterloo station

its awesome fun here. you get to know your flat mates really well, and you spend nothing on transport. it'll be sad when i leave....(next week)

How small exactly are they? Once you get a bed and desk in there is there room to move?

Erm, the rooms are certainly not spacious - alot of my friends from other universities who came to visit me were very suprised at how tiny my room was. But to be honest, I felt the en-suite bathroom (which is really what makes the room so small) more than made up of the lack of space. Whilst living there, I personally never felt the smallness was a problem!
