I've received an offer at Sheffield University to study a masters program in Global Marketing Management. The course is offered jointly by Sheffield University and Hong Kong Baptist University. I was drawn to applying for the program because it sounded like I would get double the exposure, and a degree from two universities.
Basically it is different the joint degrees that I looked up online. Basically half the modules are taught in Sheffield and the other half are covered in Hong Kong. However, I am starting to wonder whether this type of degree is really as good it sounds? The ranking of Sheffield is 110 (in the world) whereas HKBU ranks 300th. Is this course a good idea, or is it better to finish a masters program in one place? How might this affect my career prospects?
...or just paranoid?
