The letter from UCAS confirming that you have selected your Firm and Insurance offers is more than sufficient - Imperial does not need to send you another letter confirming this yet again, though I do believe some may have received this letter as well.

Yeah, I never got a letter from IC confirming acceptance, but just the UCAS letter and still got accomodation forms etc. from IC, so I assume it's not necessary

I remember last year I got a nice stamped letter in the post.

The UCAS form can be considered an official document that will be accepted by the British embassy in your country - it contains all the relevant personal details and course/university details. Call the embassy up to confirm this though before you make the visit down to submit a Visa application.

i got an email from them if that counts. imperial never send my any letters...:frown:

for visa issues i think we have to wait till we get a proper acceptance from imp.. that is after we have fullfilled our conditional offer so the offer is then effectively unconditional and really that can only happen on the 15th of aug...

edit: ignore post. just read the UK visa site. i need a visa.

Hello fellow medic (hopefully)! i think you got a bit too excited writing your sig that you made a little silly spelling mistake! :p:

to Dal - i thought the results this year are out on the 17th august. No? the 15th is a tuesday..

my mistake.. sorry.. although there is some talk about results being published a week early.. anyone know anything or is that just a plan for the years to come?

Reply 13

I think you get a confirmation from Imperial after results are published, and that's what you go to the embassy with to get your VISA (well that's what I did) in September.

The first letter you will get informing you that you have been accepted is the UCAS AS12 form (assuming you haven't applied via EXTRA). This typically is used by students to obtain a student account and as proof of acceptance for the LEA (they are the government branch that pay for home students to study).
Imperial College WILL TAKE ABSOLUTELY AGES TO POST THEIR COMFIRMATION.

Seriously. Use the AS12.
