    Hi,

I am trying to grasp what a liberal democracy is and so I have made an introduction to this exam question. Please can you tell me if it is decent and maybe suggest some good points to consider when answering the whole question? Thanks

To what extent is the UK a liberal democracy?

A liberal democracy essentially combines the features of democracy with the principles of liberalism. Liberal features may include the desire of limited government in collaboration with the promotion of individualism and freedom. Democratic features reflect the ideas of universal suffrage operating in a fair and equal society, which should essentially include regular and competitive elections.

    What do you think?
