Often you dont need to actually buy the books!

Sorry that's not every helpful now you've spent the ££, but in future think about simply borrowing them from a library (on inter-library loan f your local library doesnt stock that particular book). Many books you are required to read, you just read once and never pick up again, therefore. its a waste of money actually buying them. Once you are at Uni you will have access to a massive Library with all the course resources you need. You probably wont buy more than a couple of books during your entire course.

Good websites for books you do need to buy are Abebooks, Alibris, Ebay and Amazon. Many are discount or secondhand - just make sure you get the right edition of the specified text.
