My (otherwise fantastic) new boyfriend eats three square meals and quite often between them he has bad breath. Not exactly pleasant to kiss him then, and I've tried offering him gum (declines) so not sure what I should do/how I could bring it up?

Just say to him in a light-hearted way, I'm not kissing you, till you sort out your dog breath.

Place gum in your mouth, kiss him and slip it in.

Tell him please, don't offer him gum - that's the worst thing you can do. It will really hurt him if he eventually realizes that that is why you offered it to him and he'll be really hurt that you couldn't communicate with him. The thing is, it might have been caused by a problem in his digestive tract, a wisdom tooth coming out, post-nasal drip, he might be eating something he is allergic to (in my case it was wheat) so be a good girlfriend and tell him it may hurt him at first but he'll prefer for it to come from someone he loves than an enemy/ stranger insulting him because if it! Good luck x

After you kiss him, sniff, and ask nonchalantly if he brushed his teeth that today.

    That will do.

Some of you guys are being obnoxious. I used to have bad breath because of a constant sinus condition. No matter how much i brushed, used mouthwashed, flossed or chewed gum. It wouldn't go away.

You have to tell him, it might hurt him a bit but he'll be glad he knows so he can take action sooner rather than later

Seriously man, how can people not tell if they have bad breath, the rule is brush your teeth twice a day and buy gum inbetween meals. :facepalm2:
Anyway to answer the question, just tell him. That's the only way.
