    Hi all,

Received a letter from student finance stating that I am only entitled to 1 more year full funding, just got off the phone with them to ask why and was told that the first HE course which I started and drop out within two weeks and payed the first installment of maintenance grant back is being counted as one full year, what kind of BS is that? Got a 2 year top-up left to do to get my degree.

So now going to write a letter to appeal, whats my odds?

P.S. I had to repeat 12/13 due to ill health which supposedly is disregarded anyway

You will be liable for 25% of your tuition fee from that year where you dropped out.

I presume your original degree was a 3 year course, which means that you would have been entitled to 4 years in total. This is to allow for false starts, or if you resit a year. So even if they count that original 25% as a full year for the sake of entitlement, it should mean you are entitled to a further three years of funding.
