Hi, just a quick question, I am resitting one of my units and was wondering whether if I get a lower grade than I got the first time, if I could keep the old one? Hope that makes sense! Thanks

i've resat my c1 maths (got 78 UMS in january, due to appalling mistakes that cost me my desired 90 UMS lol) and my maths teacher told me that only the higher grade counts, so if i got 69 UMS this time round, only my 78 UMS counts (though i looked at my teacher's 'mark scheme' and i think that i've almost guaranteed myself my 90 UMS, though that depends on grade boundaries). not sure if it applies to other subjects, but hope it helps!!!

Under current rules for UK A levels your best UMS mark for a completed unit is always the mark that counts. All examiners and all subjects.
(CIE do not follow the same JCQ rules so I have no idea if it's true for them)
