Hello all-I have just completed my undergraduate degree in English from and American university and will be heading over the London for postgrad study in Comparative Literature in the Fall.

I have already received conditional offers from Kings College London and University College London (conditions which I have met-so I am all set!). The problem is that as an American, I will be returning to the states after my degree, and I cannot decide between unis. I know UCL is higher ranked in the League tables, but I don't know if this really matters on the world stage. I have looked at both programs and both seem analogous and well-suited to my tastes, and as I have been rejected for funding, the price as an overseas student is pretty much the same.

So my question is- as far as worldwide reputation goes [especially in the USA], is there a better choice? Considering my area of study and the school overall? Or are the two really pretty much the same in the long run, in which case I should just pick the uni that sits better with me?

I know this topic has been rehashed a thousand times, but any more information would help!

    thank you all!
