I need some advice on opening a second student account. I'm just finished my first year and am currently with bank of ireland who only give a £400 overdraft. I've been reading about people opening second accounts with other banks to access the overdraft facilities.
I have nearly completed a application to co-operative banking on which i have declared that i dont have a student account already and i haven't declared the income from my part-time job. They want the sort code and account info for my bank of ireland account, will they check with the bank if i have a student account and what will me changing my student loan payments from my bank of ireland account over to my co-operative account affect my overdraft with bankof ireland?

    thanks for any help
