I have just got my results for my HND graphic design graded unit and I have got the grade I need to get into university. However, while sending my digital portfolio in March, in the subject line, I entered the wrong number instead of my UCAS number resulting in me being put to the bottom of the list when being considered for a place.
I received a late reply from the university, the reply being I was unsuccessful . Before receiving this reply I was exchanging emails with the admissions staff, in one of the emails they stated that they had already been through and answered the 100 digital portfolios that they had received already. So does that mean by the time they looked at mine there were no spaces left?
Also I know spaces should free up for this course as about 10 people I know that got in are declining their offer and going to other universities. So through clearing, would I have a chance of getting into this course?

Unis make more offers than they have places on the course as they know some people will decline their offer. So the 10 people you know might not make enough of a difference for the uni to actually have any places free.
It is possible you'll get in through Clearing, but don't count on it.
