I am thinking of writing a letter to my uni regarding applying for accommodation, basically i cannot afford an ensuite room and i really need one.
I suffer from severe atopic eczema which involves me showering twice a day and bathing in oil every few days, as well as a rigorous daily moisturising routine which takes up a lot of my time. Every day I have to keep my skin at bay with specially prescribed oils and creams, exam stress is the worst for my skin as it flares up twice as bad as normal.
It would be really inconvenient to share a shower block but i understand this is what i might have to do, or seek immediate part time employment.
Should i write a letter to the accommodation office?
    Thankyou

Yes, I think you should write to the accommodation office. I also think you should ask your GP to write you a letter regarding your situation - he/she can stress the severity of the condition and why it's important for you to have a space of your own for your skincare regime.

If you have an official letter from your GP, then your appeal will have more weight. In a sense, your condition is a disability, therefore you need allowances/special conditions.

Yeah, my mate got a letter from his GP so he could get an en suite room. He suffers badly from eczema and allergies so he managed to get a whole disabled bathroom to himself! I don't think he got it any cheaper, but the uni would probably help you out money-wise if you'll really struggle.

This is the sort of thing that could and should be funded by Disabled Students Allowance. There's a lot of info on how to apply for it in the disabled students subforum.

You should talk to your university's Disabled Students Office (names may vary), who are the ones responsible for putting reasonable adjustments in place.
