AQA A2 the importance of surface area: volume

Hi,
i have to prepare an essay plan on the importance of surface area to volume ratio using knowledge from the aqa as + a2 course. it is for the synoptic paper..
im a bit stuck, could anyone help me write a plan?
so far... things to include:
Define ficks law
Important in diffusion (e.g ions, water)
Important in exotherms: helps keep them warm/cool down
Red blood cells: so can carry lots of oxygen
Microvilli - increase absorption rate
Gills in fish & tracheoles in insects

anything else or any suggestions to how to go about answering this question??

would be appreciated very much,
:suith:
Hey!
Just had a go at planning this essay. So far I've got pretty much the same as you along with Xerophytes and adaptations (U2) - to conserve water in hot climates, and mitochondria - cristea providing large S.A:frown:vol.) for attachment of enzymes and proteins for aerobic resp. And maybe you could link how small org. have large S.A.:vol. to quickly lose heat to hypothalamus response! Not sure how relevant this is.

How are you preparing for synoptic?
