    Yep I'm sitting it!

I feel really underprepared - how have you been revising?

Hi! I've been on this site http://www.zut.org.uk/advanced/year12.html - it's quite handy for some of the grammar exercises, and then I've been trying (fairly unsuccessfully...) to learn some phrases to stick in the essay. It's the essay I think I'm most worried about, worried I won't have anything to say!

    How about you?

I'm sitting this too - having the same problem, unsure how to revise

I've been writing out grammar rules in an attempt to learn them - verb tenses, prepositions etc but I'm finding it really hard! I have also written out essay sentences which I'm going to try and remember and hopefully use whatever essay comes up!

I think it's only just hit me that this exam is tomorrow - I think I'm going to spend the day writing some essays and attempting to learn some specialised vocab I can put in the essays!

I am very nervous now - I really really want an A in French this year, and I'm not sure I can count on my oral exam to boost up my marks!

Hope this helps, and good luck cramming today!

Hi everyone, I am sitting this exam tomorrow too. Any ideas on what will come up on the essay - so worried about this part of the exam!

I'm sitting it too, has anyone else found that the mark schemes for past papers have been odd and contradicted themselves, riddled with errors etc.?

I'm really worried that a dodgy paper/mark scheme might cost me an A tomorrow! I really do hate the WJEC exam board! Just hoping for some nice essay questions to pick from, preferably one on fashion since that's the bit we've done most work on!

Yeah me too, if its a bad paper or I just haven't prepared enough I'm going to be so upset! I've hardly revised at all, I attempted to write some essays earlier today but I couldn't concentrate on my work - what are you all doing tonight to cram?! Really feel like I should be doing something

Yeah the mark schemes are so hard - They're really specific as well! I'm hoping for healthy living - you can never go wrong with sport!

I find the worst part is when they ask for 2 details, quite often what their answer is seems like 1 point but they split it up for some reason! I end up with both points in one slot and a wrong answer in the other one.

I'm not a fan of the sport ones, I find I can write better stuff about things I actually know less about, I'm a massive sport fan so I tend to try and be too technical and make mistakes, whereas I know nothing about fashion whatsoever so my essays are generally better.

I'm looking over grammar notes, getting a few good phrases memorised and then I'm going to turn a couple of essays into note form so I should have points to make for at least one of the essays we get given!

The WJEC does annoy me. "Sandrine est professeur dans un college." There was nothing on the cd to say that was false, but in the into they'd said she was a teacher at a primary school! But it's a listening! Aah!!

Other than that I thought it was ok. The essays were quite nice. What did everyone else think?

Yeah that really annoyed me too! I though it was quite hard, the second reading on alcohol especially! I was pleased with my essay though, so hopefully it was okay!

It was incredibly annoying! They're meant to be assessing our ability to understand French, not our ability to understand what question they're actually asking! Did you tick it as true or false?

I'm pretty sure I got the alcopops question wrong. I put that the alcohol taste isn't very strong, so you can drink too much easier. Bit too convoluted to be right I think!

Yeah, the essay's worth quite a large chunk of the marks, isn't it? Which did you do?

I put true i think - but I've no idea if that's right! I'm thinking now that it was supposed to be so we were telling the difference between a 'college' and an 'ecole primaire', so it was false, but who knows with the wjec!

Yeah I didn't know that question either - I just put that they were marketed towards young people, but I basically copied from the text so I won't get the mark.

I did the sport essay - I normally don't like to pick the 'easy' essay as I think if I can do one that's different then it will stand out, but I didn't think there was much I could say about the others, so sport it was! Which did you chose?

I did sport too. Don't think I made any particularly groundbreaking points but oh well. Quite pleased I managed to slip a few subjuntive/idiomatic phrases in.

I did the sports essay too. It was between that and the influence of parents on teenagers because I couldn't think of a single thing for the other two.. I didn't like any of the essay questions really. I would have loved one on tourism or smoking or alcohol. I know so many idioms and specific vocab for them!

Hi all! I did this exam as my second resit in which I am happiest with this one than any others that I have done! I actually did the last question 'passer un an à l'étranger'! I got about 4 subjunctives in my essay and I really enjoyed it and hopefully I have an A this time! :adore:
