Rapid Weight Loss.

Ok I've been trying to lose weight, and for the past week, I've been eating half as much as I normally do ( I skip breakfast coz i wake up in time for lunch anyway) . I didnt do any excercise, and I constantly felt slightly hungry.

I think I've lost almost 5kg in the space of about a week? Can this be possible? and is it healthy?

Yes it is possible. It can be extremely dangerous. Keep a check on how long and how much you do this. Keep your fluids up and if you ever feel faint etc. eat something.

it is possible but not healthy. you didn't gain all that extra weight in one week so i don't understand why you have to loose it in one. if you change your food habits and loose it over a longer period there is a bigger chance that you will kepp your new weight.

If you want to keep the weight off then I can only recommend doing loads of exercise while keeping to a balanced diet.
Try and get up for breakfast because (and this is proven) it will mean your less likely to snack during the rest of the day cos you raise you blood sugar levels, equally important is drinking a glass of water when you wake.

Not eating breakfast won't help you.

you've probably lost a mixture of water, fat and muscle (or at least will lose muscle in the coming weeks if you dont eat enough. Just eat your 3 meals a day but keep them healthy. none of that processed crap. cutting out meals slows your metabolism, increasing chances of weight gain once you stop your limited food supply diet.

Aim for sensible weight lose. 1-2lbs per week is healthy, unless your clinically obese...in which case 3-5lbs per week would be acceptable...im sure your not though

Even though you lost a lot of weight you won't be able to keep it off without a healthy lifestyle. I'm sure your way isn't healthy!
yeh id say the same as many peeps here. nt having breakfast is reli self defeating. It leads to low metabolism and can i think can have some effect in relation to muscle wastage which in turn will lower your metabolism even further. If you want to lose weight try keeping your metabolism high but healthily. Just avoid excess sugar and fat and keep excersising

You'll put on that amount of weight as fast as it disappeared. It's very eay to not keep a balance.

Still make sure that you are still receiving all the vitamins and minerals you need though! Multi-vitamin tablets and iron tonics can help you alot with this! Some are fruit flavoured too and the sharp tase will definitely waken you up a bit! But it helps you so one tends to put up with it and its advantages!

5 kgs isn't actually a lot to lose in one week, but it's a lot to lose weekly. I doubt you'll be able to keep up the pace.

Err, 10lbs isn't alot to lose in 1 week? What planet are you from fella?

It'll be a mixture of water loss/glycogen/decreased food/some fat bla bla bla.
10lb in a week? Cripes that's a huge amount! Is that even physically possible, without starving?

Most I've ever lost is 4lb....That was 3 weeks in.

It's about excess water...
You only lose about 2 pounds of fat....
Ricky Hatton(The Boxer) will dehydrate himself for the weigh on before the match so he is 147, but willl prolly weigh 10 lb's more for the match the next day...

i have got another question.

do u think excess skin will be an issue for me?

You're quite young so your skin should still have pretty good elasticity. I can't tell without looking at you how big that makes you but I would guess you'll be fine skin wise.

No, it won't be a problem.
I wish young people would stop crash dieting because it is NOT healthy. Exercise on the other hand is very healthy and will keep the pounds at bay. It leaves you both physically and mentally cleansed.
