U r kidding! USA! U r so lucky. I am afraid that i wont go anywhere this year as i am going to uni and i have to spend time with my friends before i leave. None of my friends, classmates r going to the university ( that is if i get the grades) that i am going and i will be at the other end of the country from where they will be!

Do u have any thoughts of what u would like to study at university?

Reply 21

I dunno...maybe Medicine...

Yeah...I'm off to the USA...it's a trip called GYLC (Global Young Leaders Conference)...and you get to go to New York and Washington D.C.!!!

People aged between 16 and 19 from all over the world gather there and learn loads but have fun at the same time...some peopl from pne of the English schools in NIcosia actually go...(I think they're from The English School...or they might actually be from your school??? or IS your school the English school??? LOL)...

What you going to study at Uni???...don't worry...being in Nicosia is not that far away from wherever you live...Cyprus is quite a small place...
Oh and, saying that...we are probably related somehow...where in cyprus do you live??..like what area?...then I will tell you some people I know who live there...lol

Reply 22

um. how did you apply for such a conference? i'd love to go lol.

Reply 23

I applied to it through my school...only two or three schools in England are offerred it each year...and our school just happened to be one of them! YAY!!!

I' m going to study medicine if i get the grades.

Our family name is "Nikolaou"...

Ask your parents if they anybody of that surname (that's the surname from my dad's side of the family...)

Before my mum married him...her surname was "Symeou"...your parents are more likely to have heard this name...

Get back to me...lol!

Reply 28

My dad has some cousins whose surname is Nicolaou but Nicolaou is a very common surname. I' ve heard symeou before and i used to have a classmate at primary school who had that surname. Also, ask ur parents if the surname Zachariou rings a bell from Birmingham. Its my mum's surname and she grew up in birmingham u c.

Talk to u soon!

Reply 29

OKay...let me ask them...lol...

Talk to you soon too...I must go and revise (even though I really can't be bothered)...3 exams left!!!

Have you finished yours? How do you think you done?

Reply 30

I have just done FP1. It was good, i found it really straightforward. In 2h and 30 min i have 2 chemistry papers. Two papers of biology 2morrow, the following day FP2, on friday synoptic biology (and my school graduation) and finally chemistry synoptic on the 26th.

Reply 31

OH!!! My brother does them...he has to do do chemistry units 4 and 5(5 is part synoptic)...then the next day biology (which is today)...he only had to do unit 5 because he already done unit 4 in January (98/100)!!!

GOOD LUCK!!!!

i've done most of my exams...i have two left...Statistics on Thurs and Economics on Fri...then it's all over - until reuslts day lol!!!

Are you going to come on here and talk to me about your results on results day or the next day?

Reply 32

I am currently studying for my Greek A2 course and I was wondering if anyone new where to find the past papers for June 2011?

OR

Does anyone know the questions for Kavafy and history of cyprus?

Hey!

I was just wondering whether anybody does AS/A2 Modern Greek (edexcel)...
If you do, what do you think of the exams? What do you think of Section Two on the A Level paper? Post a reply on this thread.

Jack

Heyy jack im doing my Greek a levels at the moment and its quite easy but it depends how much Greek you know really. it also depends on if you are full Greek or cypriot. im fully greek and i hardly know anything about cyprus and it is part of the syllabus. the exam for as anda2 are quite easy in as it tests your knowledge on the greek language lots of reading and answering questions, the translation is ok you have to translate from greek to english but a2 you have to translate from english to greek. A2 is a little harder bcuz it tests ur knowledge on the history and geography of cyprus which i found quite tricky i got a c in my A2 so im resitting. so yeah thats it. if you need anymre help or info feel free to ask good luck !!

Hi alexia. Im doing AS greek this year which i agree is fairly easy.I took a quick look through the A2 exam paper and syllabus and I am struggling with section C. I am doing this all independently so i don't have a teacher or any books. Did you have any revision guides or anything to help you with section C of the a2 exam?

Reply 36

Hi,
I'm also doing this exam independently and section C is hard. I chose the greek history 1960-1974 and Giorgos Ioannou book. I had a history book and the book but I'm finding that I can't fully answer the questions on past papers. Which two are you doing?

Reply 37

I found the AS paper quite easy , however I'm currently studying the A2 exam and it's extremely difficult as half is literature and the other half is research based on topics that you've chosen from the specification.
