you know betting with roulette yea there is the 50/50 chance with odd and even number:

if you have lots of money, you can basically earn money just by doubling until you get it? anyone tried it?
roulette isn't 50-50, there is a green, possibly 2. therefore the casino always has an edge, and you will lose money in the long run. Same with all casino games, except blackjack is you can count cards. Poker's different because you aren't playing against the house, the idea is to be so skillful that it reduces the reliance on luck to the absolute minimum.

but surely even if there are 2 greens you can still double money to win all the losts you have made before?

Yes you can, until you reach the table limit in which case your snookered - if you have £1k I have no doubt you could instantly win some cash on BlueSQ.com

If I ever goto a casino or card room I think i shall probably never leave, I love poker so so so much.
Its a really nice new card room right in the centre of London. If you go there to just play the daily tournament, then you can leave. The cash games go on til the late night, but once I'd made £100 including the amount I'd lost in the tournament, and it was nearly 4am and i was planning to leave at 1am, I left. Maybe thats because I'm at home (parents) at the mo, if I move to London in the 4th year I probably won't leave til they kick us out. Oh and they give you free (non-alcoholic) drinks and sandwiches, which was a surprise.

Surprisingly I can keep my online poker in check, even though its always there, maybe because its so boring.

Yeah online poker is not a patch on the real stuff. It does however function to keep my passion alive until I can join the big leagues. Whilst also hopefully earning me a profit over a long period of time.

I could so easily be addicted to gambling!
It only takes scotland to pull something about of the bag and your £500 down.
Scotland wont win though. They are crap. I will win 70 pounds tommorow that is guarenteed.

Bettin on games which are equal is a fools game, I only bet on bankers. I dont lise often and I can assure you I have made many times the amount I have lost. I usually put a bet on every weekend given there is a game with a banker win. I would for example never bet on a Premiership football game, its too risky.

Yeah I agree, I only bet on non-certs rarely and when I fancy my chances. I wish I had a huge fund to start with though. - I always wanted to borrow a million from someone and just bet on a cert to cash in.

yea i guess you are right - premiership matches are incredibly unpredictable, but i mean betting is not all the time about winning directly, for me, betting for football increases the enjoyment of watching football

The best odds I can get on Arsenal to win the permiership is 1/33, I'm seriously thinking of putting my student loan for next year on that - giving me a quick return of £120

online is growing all the time, so bloody fast its amazing. there's a lot of money to be made out there. All my moneys gone on a) Arsenal b) "stuff"

The place i played yesterday has quite small stakes, £10 buy-in tourny (varies upto £30 I think) with rebuys. Then cash, played £1/£1 blinds pot limit dealers choice for a bit, then 25p/50p pot limit holdem (where I made my money). Pots get big tho, often £100-£200, and thats 6 handed.

Of course betting increases the entertainment.

I will admit I have been to York a few times for the gee gees and bet and lost money. But I only see that as a 'day out' like paying to watch a football match so I dont mind.

I got 10 to one on a couple of weeks ago

But serious, the Scotland game 2moz is a give away. Ladbrokes are offering 14 to 1 on for France to win and you will get the money almost instantly.

16 to 1 on at BlueSQ. And dam you and your 10 to 1 on for Arsenal, i'm shocked they haven't closed the betting on that to be honest.
