What kind of engineering? Could be a sound engineer, marine enginner, erm..... off the top of my head (what me and my dad do :p:)

Quite different things really???

well my bf is an engineer, and he's ultimately sexy, though i think it has something to do with the fact that he's good-looking and athletic as opposed to being completely down to the subject he studies!
My boyfriend is studying Mechanical Engineering.

I wouldn't say it makes him more sexy - I find him sexy for other reasons besdies what he's studying.

I think there are stereotypes about certain subjects. For example, if he was studying computing (no offence intended) I may not have thought the same way about him in the early stages of our relationship.

But I hope that most people can look past what someone is studying.

If it would make you feel better to think you are more sexy then you think that all you like...

Well, if you're into rough and ready guys, maybe a civil? Better marital material with an electrical?

OR

If you're looking for something, well, a bit different, there's always a chemical!

Does anyone think that being an engineer makes them more sexually attractive? I ask this because I am completely unbiased and think it's true .

Edit: I didn't post this in the Engineering sub-forum because I would get a cynical and potentially honest response.

Says the engineering student! :p:

Girl engineers are generally considered to be mingers/manly, in my experience. (Including one guy who wouldn't accept that I was an engineer because apparently I'm 'too pretty', but then he also called my boobs 'a work of art'...)

Guy engineers... I'd say they get a similiar rep to computer scientists and stuff, ie a bit geeky.

Don't agree with either myself, but then I'm probably biased...

I only know 1 engineer and he's sexy, but i suppose that cant be said for all of them.

It's okay to generalise from one case
(That's what we do!)

Depends on the engineer in question. In my experience they are no better than average, but then the engineers that I have met tend to be the academic type anyway. I assume you are thinking more a mechanic/ civil engineer (ie more practical) than someone who stares at numbers and computer screens all day?

As a female electronic engineer (a rare rare breed...) i'd have to say that there are some sexy engineers and some not so sexy ones... however, engineers are genearlly pretty intelligent (not meaning to blow my own trumpet...) and i think that intelligence is a sexy quality so an ugly engineer is probably sexier than an ugly unintelligent person. Does that makes sense?

I don't really have an opinion, because I think being sexy has more to do with a person than a profession, but I have a friend who really does think that all engineers are sexy. It's kind of strange and sometimes a little disturbing, but there are therefore people out there. Then again, she's thinking about becoming an engineer herself, so maybe she's biased.

well...i know a very sexually attractive engineer...
Erm... of the 4 male first year engineers here, 3 are tall, strapping, and do a lot of rowing. The other one is French...

Of all the female engineers I know, I know one particularly gorgeous one and several others who are the same.
Cambridge's engineering population is surprisingly good looking on the whole, well was for my year anyway, especially the women :p:, I never really saw any "geeky" looking women.

Just to clear up, my brother's an engineer and he's quite posh, so to speak.

haha, looks like I'm gonna become an engineer then

Well the only engineer I know is my dad...

So no, I don't think engineers are sexy!
