Reduction Rhinoplasty (nose surgery)

if you want to have cosmetic surgery on your nose to reduce the size, is this likely to be really expensive? i'm considering having it done as although my nose isn't too big, i think it is quite large (about 5.7cms) which is quite big?? there's no obtrusive bridge or anything and it's well shaped, just a bit too big. or is there any way you can hide the size by balancing it out with say making a fuss of other facial features (I'm male), and since I'm a guy this maybe a little difficult as I dont wear make up, but maybe have long-ish hair and just mess it up or something??
i dunno. i dont want to resort to surgery really as i dont think i'm as bad as some people, but it's still getting my self confidence. any ideas?

I think your only non-surgical option is to grow your hair long. Long hair always softens facial features, and if it's straight then let it fall about your face.

Still, if you'll only ever be happy with yourself after a surgical alteration, then do it. Remember, though, you tend to notice these things more than anyone else.

hmm, i think i'm just gonna do the messy hair thing. i don't think it's too bad really, just not perfect (see pic)...
i dont want to seem vain. it's just something that's bothering me a bit. sometimes it can look alright and sometimes it doesn't.

I would consider surgery very hard - it's not something you jump into lightly. Also, because it's for aesthetic reasons I'd doubt you'll get it on the NHS, so it will be expensive.

Unless you smash your nose up proper, like.

I dont know the exact price of such surgery but you can expect to pay £1000's

I love the black humour in the medical community such as calling a nose job a rhinoplasty and a fear of long words is Hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia

i agree. because people know you the way you are. if you change anything about your appearance it'll just make it all the more obvious.. (maybe i'm just saying this because i'm against plastic surgery if it's not for reconstruction after an accident or the like).. so i very much hope you will opt for a non-surgical solution.. maybe growing your hair is the easiest option because it'd be stupid to tell you to accept simply accept it and get on with life.. good luck with whatever you decide;-)

Mine cost £5000 but it was a bit more complicated than the one you have in mind. So I'm not really sure but I cant imagine it being much less than that.

You should book a consultation with a plastic surgeon. You can just talk things through with them, get things clear in your mind (if you really want it, like) and they will tell you the price. Then you can decide from there
