Alcohol And Stomach Pains

im 17, when i was 15 i drank for the first time...i was alone and jus tthought what the hell lets just try it...i didnt know much about alcohol so i jus mixed myslef a few shots of bacardi and coke and whisky..i also had a few raw shots..i got pissed and puked up and the rest of it...after this a few days later i had REAL bad abdominal pains...but i jus thought it was heart burn and took gaviscon...but the pain has persisted....i get real bad pains every so oftern..it used to be the centre of my stomach and now its the right side of my abdomen...i duno what it is but i saw the doctor before who didnt do any physcal examination and just gave me cimetiden and told me it was excess acid...i dont want to tell him i drank when i was 15...i drink now but sensibly only a pint now and again...but if i do drink heavily i get pains again!!...the pain is like a gnawing pain!!..very uncomfortable..i have problem sleeping sometimes when it starts at night!.. i drink milk as this seems to help..but it may just be psychological!

Yeah I have that. In my case it's gastritis which is caused by drinking. Alcohol damages the lining of the stomach and leads to ulcers. Go back to your doctor and say you still get pain.

Yeah I get that, though only when I drink alcohol with ice in!! lol!!

i really do not drink very much at all..i get the pains when i do not drink as well...usually with certain types of foods...the last time i drank must have been about 4 months ago..and that was just a pint of beer...

That could be gastritus like puppy said - it doesn;t have to be alcohol related.

It's basically when your stomach makes too much acid so starts trying to dissolve its own wall. It can be triggered by certain foods, certain drinks, too much stress, anything. Tell your doctor and try and work out what the triggers are for the pain so that you can tell him it's before a test or if you've eaten a certain spice.

i also have quite a lot of mucus in my faeces and there was tiny traces of blood along time ago...which has not come back..it was only there once.

im just worried it may have something to do with my liver??..but it rally was only a havey bout of drinking once or twice and not more then that..so im thinking my liver should be strong enough to withstand that...its just the pain is i nthe right side of my abdomen...near the liver area...do you think its a possibility?

There's no real way to tell apart from GOING TO YOUR DOCTOR
