How to grow facial hair

I'm 20 years of age and still have very little facial hair. Some has grown and I need to shave every two or three days to keep it from being noticable, but it's only random hairs.

I've already got hair on my chest and tummy. Is there any way to encourage facial hair growth? Is it true that shaving more often will help it to grow thicker?

Cheers for any answer.

It's more a case of time + horomones than shaving habits.

you have to go and dip your head in a vat of cow excrement and stay there for two days while it encourages your facial hair to appear.

when you take your head out, you will, look like a yeti.

 I was told that that removed hair! No wonder I've been captured by Yeti hunters so many times, I was starting to worry.

Hey, this idea might seem way out there but just bear with me here. How about...NOT SHAVING!?

Facial hair is more a matter of genetics, and patience. My dad, for example, can't grow hair any longer than 5 days growth. However, I inherited my grandfathers genes (on my mothers' side) and I can grow longer hair than my dad! However, it grows in an unusual pattern.

Shaving will help it grow faster, but no thicker, just like the hair on your head. Unfortunately, patience is the key. And you may be one of those unfortunate souls, who cannot grow substantial facial hair :frown:

Shaving more often is supposed to encourage/ stimulate the facial hair growth... Not sure why though :s:

It encourages growth of hair that already exists, but it doesn't cause spontaneous genesis of new folicles I'm afraid.

Well, considering how great beards are, I'd say it's unfortunate that he cannot grow one, as he desires to.
