im afraid its absolutely gay! i just think men, most specifically straight men should stay away from any labelled bags or even t-shirts. the bags just make you look gay coz why the hell would you want a louis vuitton bag in your age. i mean its understandable if its a travel bag i.e. a weekend bag. but for laptops, school bag. so don't buy it! its a lot of money and its useless....just an opinion though mate, so feel free to ignore me.
it depends on the boy
it also depends on the bag!
Louis Vuitton is SO tacky these days- whether you are gay or straight!

I did want to say that, but whenever I express a negative opinion I people seem to lay into me.

You can't deny though that LV makes good quality stuff - maybe don't get a monogrammed bag (too many fakes + it's girly) but their plain briefcases are nice - if you're like a lawyer or business man or something. In general though anything like that when you're a student/at school is a bit weird. Just my opinion though xxx
Well if it is gay you could always buy some LV for me instead!!

The thing is, even if it is real (and the majority of their stuff is pretty horific anyway) everyone will think automatically think it's fake. And why on earth would you want the same bag as everyone anyway!? Go to Soho and find yourself a gorgeous, unique designer bag.

not necessarily, a number of my friends have Louis Vuitton stuff and there is no question as to whether it's real or not - no one carries fake LV because it's tackier than carrying no LV at all

Still hate the stuff myself though, but the guy did ask!
the thing that peoplke are saying i.e. louis vuitton is tacky so get another designer bag is a bit weird for me. I mean in all honesty, why would you want a designer bag especially if you're just a student right? I just feel that people who actualy have louis vuitton etc and wanting more of them at our age are just mere social climber. A louis vuitton bag is basically sayin "hey look at me, I have money". It's an absosolutely lower class standar and to be perfectly honest, middle and upper class people wouldn't actually give a damn what there bag is.
Well, I have a few LV bags and my precious purse, but I have to say, I don't think they're that great quality. I've got a musette bag which I love dearly, but has had to be repaired numerous times. I've only had my purse 6 months and it's already on it's way out with the stitching and likes..
Personally, I find the stuff revoltingly crass. It's something that I shall never own!

I have a Louis Vuitton bag (a real one of course!) and do like it but would prefer a quilted Chanel. Much more classy!
Oh seriously, what are you talking about?! To those who labelled LV 'tacky'- have you ever visited a store? I hope you're aware that it's one of the most prestigious luggage brands? LV was founded in 1846 and my family are collectors of the luggage. We have the entire set of suitcases, hat boxes and chests and trunks. For example, one of our chests, from 1890, is now worth over £70,000. They are still made to that exact specification.
Now, I'm explaining, because some of you don't seem to understand. The fact that LV is used by Royalty (the car that Princess Diana died in contained numerous items, and Zara was wearing top to toe LV including monogram bag at the Pop Idol thing the other night), Arab Billionnaires and celebrities alike proves that you cannot purchase anything beter. This goes for anything by a major designer.

At an average cost of £400 per handbag, I'm sure you'd all use it if you could afford those prices.

I have 45 Louis Vuitton items, and they are exquisite. I have the crocodile monogram which cost nearly £2000.

Try and be a little cultured. If you don't understand something please don't comment.

I hope you're aware that everything in this sector of the market has ben imitated by fakes. Be it diamonds, clothing, watches. The list goes on.

To the original poster- get one. I live in London and went to Stowe School. Everyone had one. They look awesome. Declarations of wealth always look good.

i like Lv, however the chain design is very tacky! The trunks, on the other and are simply exquisite!

What are you on about, you silly girl?! It's so obvious that you come from sad Hampshire. We've got a country weekend house in Lymington, and you lot are pretty sad down in Hants so I wouldnt expect your comments to mean much.

What exactly do you mean by a ''gorgeous unique designer bag from Soho''. To which designers are you referring? And why on earth would one head to Soho to buy a randomly stocked bag from Soho? There is no such place.

No they don't: to quote your good self, 'try and be a little cultured.'

Absolutely untrue. Mainstream, clearly branded stuff gets copied - not subtle items.

I spent half my gap year working in the fashion industry (for one of the more prestigious brands) and, whilst LV is good for some things, other items - like the handbags - look bloody awful because of all the fakes out there. Celebrities and rich Arabs are absolutely no indicator of taste, either.
