I've got an offer from Lilian Knowles also. All I know is what is on the LSE site - it's pretty difficult to see pictures or anything since its a brand new place.

Overall, I've heard it's a pretty good place to live - although it's a far distance from LSE.

Thinking of buying a bike so that 30 min. walking would be 10-15 min. riding :wink:

Johan, a question - how much does a bike cost in London? Can i buy a second-hand bike?

Umm actually I'm in France so I can't answer your first question :redface:

But it's very easy to get second-hand bikes, try ebay and especially sports shops - they often have specific services for sceond-hand material. We'll go biking ! lol

theres a massive bike shop next to high holborn halls that offers discounts for students also. Halfords bikes are ok, but generally are pretty shoddy in quality. I bought my bike a few years ago for about £200, its a pretty good one from giant though..
In terms of an actual running track, i'm not too certain there is one near by, but there are plenty of roads, best bet is to join a gym though.
The actual lse sports ground is in kingston afaik (aka miles away)

I got an offer for Lilian Knowles also and have eventually accepted it.
They are en-suite rooms,...I don't mind travelling 15mins longer for that :rolleyes:

I'm a postgrad student and just got an offer for LK.
Can someone confirm that riding a bike in London is actually not such a bad idea? Because I don't fancy walking an hour every day to uni & back...
Or maybe there's some kind of public transportation accessible from the hall?

I have a buddy who will be at Lillian Knowles and it's a bit cheaper and it's en-suite. But, based on the reactions of my offer, HH apparently comes with a private butler and the furniture is made of solid gold, so maybe I'll rethink my offer. Seriously though, besides the location (which I admit is a big plus) what is so special about the place?
