Are you addicted to the internet?

I've recently become aware of just how much time I spend on the internet, and how much I put off doing things I'm supposed to be doing by browsing facebook/youtube/TSR. It has got to the point that even though it is my summer holidays and I have no work I need to do, I'm not even getting round to reading the books I had planned to read or playing the video games I had planned to play cause I am just wasting my days away online.

Does anyone else think their internet usage is starting to become problematic? Any advice on how to cut down and actually stick to it?

I'm exactly the same, but sadly I can't even think of other stuff I'd do half the time. When I get to uni, hopefully I'll be a lot busier.

In short, I need a girlfriend! :L

Keep yourself busy?

Exercise?

Tell yourself "instead of sitting here doing nothing, why don't I be productive"

And by productive, I mean something which means something to you.

Usually I just get up, check e-mails, facebook, twitter etc. Then I try get off before I'm sat spending hours actually doing nothing but flicking from random site to random site.

I wouldn't say i'm addicted, there's just not much else to do  Especially when you're on a gap year, and everybody you know is at university!
Same... facebook/TSR/random websites take up so much of my time. It's pretty annoying, but I've got no helpful advice.

I'm addicted to porn.
A bit, I've been without Internet for a whole month once....but that was during holiday abroad so I don't think it counts :mmm:

nice one, and likely right. Fewer people are addicted to the Internet than are addicted to what can be had on it, such that a seeming internet addiction only supervenes.
Travel around more. You just need to break away from your boring routine and start being more active.

Yep, to the point where I spend a minimum of 10 hours on it everyday. I think I'm going crazy!
