It seemed awfully odd. I was on the tram around 9 and there was this announcement "Due to an incident on market street, the police are refusing access to market street, all trams will terminate at Victoria."

We went to have a look and it was just cordoned off and blocked so you couldn't see much.

My friend seems to think somebody was shot.
My mum seems to think somebody threw themselves in front of the metrolink
The people on the tram at the time were convinced it was terrorism, until somebody pointed out "why would anybody bomb an empty tram at 9pm on a sunday night in manchester?"

There was nothing in the paper so I don't know (p.s it was saturday yesterday!).

There has been nothing in the news about anything so it could have nothing to serious. Maybe it was just drunken jobs or somthing.

It seemed like an incredible amount of disruption for drunken yobs, though everything was perfectly fine today so I'm sure you're right it wasn't too serious.

They try to keep people calm and organised by not giving away loads of details and just referring to it as an 'incident,' but people instantly bring the worst to mind, and blurt out "OmG I BET IT HAS BEEN BOMBED :O"

If they do publish they have to think about the publics reactions and what they'll do.
