my teacher writes exams and she said they take 6 months at the very least to write. There is NO way they can change them in time. I hate exam boards, if it was one board i could understand it but to have two boards affected??

Reply 4

Aye, exam boards produce back up papers for evey subject and if there is a suspect leak the just use the spare paper. So those studnets in london will probably have wasted their money. Most likely at the printing place, that an exam paper could be stolen

Reply 7

how will this affect the decent candidates among us?

Reply 8

*if* they cant change the paper in time, then boundaries may rise. but dont panic, hopefully as people have said they may get changed. I'm just really angry that this has been allowed to happen TWO boards really screwing up...

Or they get put back a couple of weeks in which I can cram some more

I'm trying to make some lemonade from lemons here.

About grade boundaries going up. If they do, I'm going to cry, a lot.

Only a very minute percentage of results are affected by this - if you're getting an A, you're getting an A...

Last yer GCSE AQA history papers were stolen. so they had to re write them. worked out well cos they asked really basic questions.

Isn't this normally the case? If you're getting a B, you're getting a B?
Sorry, just me being cheeky! ignore me.

yeah, that's my primary concern. Although it's unethical, I'm mainly worried about the grade boundaries being higher . Hopefully it's only a small proportion of people who've seen the papers, so it may not have a significant effect overall.

Reply 14

these papers get around quickly, even if the boundry changes by a mark or 2 i'd still call it significant

Reply 15

It depends on what paper is concerned, if the paper is out of something small like 32 (e.g. the biology synoptic), one or two marks would be significant.

Hahahahahah - you know what I mean!

Lets face it, a handful of people aren't going to make any significant difference. Its probably more important you stop replying to these threads and revise that topic that might come up.

@Mustard Man - Its the number of people taking the exam thats of greater importance really.

wot did u expect from AQA??

looks like the S1 paper was leaked too
now i prob did worse than thought cause the grade boundries are probably gone up.

and yeah... a few marks can could make a difference...i always miss a grade by 1 or 2 marks.

i hope they replace the papers...

Reply 19

I think what normally happens in these situations is that they replace this one with next years exam and write another one for next year (they write them in advance)
