If I had a 10 year old knocking and asking for my number. I'd tell them to go to bed, as it's past thier bedtime
well maybe I'm just mean. are you really 10?i honestly think that you should go and ask for his number yourself, because you would make yourself look silly anyway by suddenly calling him.
and if you really are ten, don't get into this stuff yet, you're still too young. its alright to like boys and all that stuff but its not time yet. first enjoy your childhood and study, these are the things you should worry about now.

OK I refuse to believe you're 10.
How did you meet him? Work, school? Why don't you wait till you see him again and chat a bit and then ask for his number? You'd die?
You know, it's not really all that dangerous. There's nothing to lose, either he says 'yes' and gives his number (and voilá) or then he'll just say 'no' and you have saved a lot of thoughts you'd have otherwise wasted on him.
Knocking on his door is stupid and childish. You don't know how his parents react to girls or if he lives with a girlfriend.
I wouldn't bother.

You're 10? You spaz, what do you think a 21 year old will see in you? Absolutely nothing. Get someone your own age. Or if you're older than you say you are (which is most likely the case) do it yourself. People don't play this "my best friend will get my your number LOL!" game after they hit puberty :/
