Sociology: the official marks thread

Obviously we have to wait till August to find out for A2 but we can come back and edit our posts then, so we can list all of our marks. This might function as a little motivation exercise in the last few days of sociology revision!

Mine:

AS:
SCLY1 - 68 / 80 UMS (A)
SCLY2 - 120 / 120 UMS (A)

A2:
SCLY3 - 67 (A) - raw mark = 45 (3 marks off an A* - :frown:

)
SCLY 4 - 96 UMS - raw mark = 56 (A) (following a re-mark).

Overall UMS: 351.
Overall grade: A.

And you?

SY2: 120/120
SY3: 66/80
SY4: Need 81/120 for an A :frown:

If your on AQA its 160/200 UMS for an A @ AS and 320/400 UMS for the whole A-level to get an A.

hey JustDisturbia. i got my remark back last week and went from a C to an A on paper 4. it was the mark i was originally expecting so relieved! a shame we have to get a senior examiner to mark things properly, but there you go. worth doing it looks like :smile:

Only did AS so far

SCLY1: 60/80 UMS B
SCLY2: OG mark 82/120 UMS C. REMARK 108 UMS A
Overall: 168 UMS.

Can I ask, does this effectively mean I have already got an E in sociology?

In jan SCLY1 I barely did anything in terms of revision.
In may I did a fair bit more for SCLY2 and felt I had smashed the exam.

I couldn't handle the fact that more revision led to a worse grade than my january score and less than in English language which I didn't even revise for.

I just knew that I had done better than they said.

yeah thats sounds fair enough. i think im going for a remark because i didnt feel like i did as well as a B in unit 3,but didnt feel like i did so bad to get a C in unit 4..and im only 8 raw marks off which in socio isnt much :frown:
